crockery and coffee cups

i am no different from any other barista.
i wear clothes from second-hand stores and on any given day i look like i accidentally fell into my closet, my dad's closet, my homeless friend's closet and then came to work.
i listen to a lot of music that some people might consider less pleasant than listening to cows mate.
i traumatize my indecisive customers, who always tip me the best because people like to be told what to do.
i speak in quick witticisms.
i am a pretentious fuck.
and i smoke.

but coffee is really important to me.
it's ridiculous. i didn't even drink it until i was almost 18.
once i got into the barista scene, i started paying attention to who drinks what kind of coffee. it was almost a sociological experiment. this is an ongoing experiment that shocks me almost every time i go to work.

coffee is exciting.
and delicious because i work at the shop in town that has THE BEST coffee. maybe not the best iced coffee, but our drip and espresso are forces to be reckoned with. i say this without a doubt. i have been most if not all places and ours is my favorite.

in this blog i will document my experiments in the coffee world and my passion for the bean.

Hrmph. I beg to differ. It is the work of the barista, not the bean. Not to say that the bean isn't a big part of it, but I'm just not sure if your bus can compete with me. :P
